Pierre Kimbondo

Pierre Kimbondo (born February 15, 1914 in Mvunzu , Democratic Republic of the Congo , † July 12, 1977 ) was Bishop of Kisantu .

Life

Pierre Kimbondo received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Kisantu on August 8, 1943 .

On August 9, 1956, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Sebela and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Kisantu. The Apostolic Vicar of Kisantu, Alphonse Verwimp SJ , donated him episcopal ordination on November 18 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Vicar Apostolic of Kikwit , André Lefèbvre SJ, and the Vicar Apostolic of Matadi , Alphonse Marie Van den Bosch CSsR .

On June 24, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . to the bishop of Kisantu. Pope Paul VI awarded him the personal title of Archbishop on November 8, 1971 . Pierre Kimbondo resigned as Bishop of Kisantu on April 27, 1973.

Pierre Kimbondo attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
