Pierre de l'Armoire

The dolmen Pierre de l'Armoire (also Dolmen de Rumont ) is located north of the municipality of Rumont west of Nemours in the Seine-et-Marne department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The angevin type dolmen ( Angevin dolmen) is located in the remains of a hill. It has a rectangular chamber about 4.0 m long and 2.5 m wide, which is covered by an approximately 6.0 × 4.0 m capstone of irregular shape with a large hole in the west. As with all dolmens of this type, the access opens to the east, but not much of the narrow and low access structure that characterizes this type has been preserved, apart from a few fallen stones.

The dolmen has been protected as a monument historique since 1889 .
