Pieter Plas (born March 2, 1810 in Alkmaar , † October 1, 1853 ibid) was a Dutch landscape and animal painter and art teacher.

Pieter Plas was born the son of the house and carriage painters Laurens Plas and Cornelia Berger. He worked in his father's company until he was 24 years old, while he was trained by the city architect Adrianus de Visser. In 1835 he settled in Hilversum, where he was a student of Jan van Ravenswaay and Willem Bodeman for two years . Together with Ravenswaay he visited Drenthe . He then returned to Alkmaar in 1837, where he stayed until 1846. He spent the period from 1846 to 1848 in Haarlem. He lived in Alkmaar for the last five years.

He became a member of the “Kunst zij uns doel” artist community. The Alkmaarer Teekongenootschap (drawing cooperative) commissioned him with the management of the local painting school. His students included u. a. Bernardus Gerardus ten Berge and Hendrik Loth .

In 1841 he married Catharina Alida ten Berge, who bore him five children.
