The Pik Erkindik (formerly: Pik Kirow or Kirowa ) is a mountain in the Tian Shan on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Xinjiang ( PR China ).
location
The 6073 m high mountain is located in the Kakschaaltoo , 20 km west of the Dschengisch Tschokusu ( Pik Pobeda ). At Pik Erkindik, the Kaindy chain branches off to the northwest from the main ridge of the Kakschaaltoo. The nutrient zone of the Kajukap Glacier lies on its western flank . The Komsomolez glacier flows on its northern flank . The western Temirsu glacier flows on the southern flank of Pik Erkindik . The peak of Erkindik has a notch height of 912 m.
Origin of name
The original name of the mountain is derived from the Soviet state and party official Sergei Mironovich Kirov .
