The Pik (Boris) Jelzin ( Russian Пик Ельцина , Pik Jelzina , or Пик Бориса Ельцина, Pik Boris Jelzina ) is a mountain in the Tian Shan in Central Asia .
At 5,168 m, it is the third highest mountain in Terskej-Alatau . The glaciated mountain is located in the Issykköl area in the east of Kyrgyzstan , 7.57 km west-southwest of Peak Karakol . The headwaters of the Dscheti-Ogus river lies on its northern flank .
The mountain was originally called Ogus-Baschi ( Kyrgyz for "ox head"). In 2002 the mountain was named after the first President of the Russian Federation , Boris Yeltsin .
The mountain has a 5110 m high western peak.
