coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on July 15, 1994 by the Thuringian State Administration Office.
Blazon : "In silver with a red bordered shield head, which is split by a red pole and covered with two red St. Andrew's crosses, on a green shield foot a black, left-walking boar with golden armor."
The boar goes back to the seal used until 1952 and symbolizes the area rich in game; the green shield base symbolizes the wooded surroundings of the place. The bordered shield head shows a half-timbering typical of the community; the two St. Andrew's crosses stand for the two districts.
The coat of arms was designed by Manfred Fischer from Goßwitz .
