Ottmannsdorf is a district of the town of Triptis in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

geography

The village is hidden on a plateau of the Saale-Elster-Buntsandsteinplatte surrounded by meadows, fields and forest. A local connecting road leads to federal highway 2318 coming from Neustadt an der Orla to Lippersdorf-Erdmannsdorf . The place is equidistant from both Neustadt an der Orla and Triptis . The Thuringian woodland around Hermsdorf begins north of the district .

history

It was first mentioned in documents in 1378. The residents of the hamlet have always been dominated by forests and agriculture. In the 1950s, farmers also had to take the path of collectivization of their farms and found new forms of farming after the fall of the Wall .

It was incorporated into Triptis on May 1, 1965.
