The Pilzsteig is an approx. 21 km long nature trail in the Ilm district in Thuringia . Along the nature trail, hikers can find out a wide range of information about mushrooms and medicinal herbs , but also about geological and historical features of the region, including the healing effects of geo-magnetism .

idea

The idea for this nature trail was born during the planning of the Euro Mushroom Park Gillersdorf. The project was carried out in 2006 under the leadership of the “Langer Berg” association as part of the LEADER funding program, and it was co-financed by the European Union . The Pilzsteig was built by the project community of Neustadt am Rennsteig , Altenfeld , Großbreitenbach , Gillersdorf , Möhrenbach , Herschdorf , Pennewitz and Gehren under the direction of the city of Gehren.

The nature trail leads from Gehren over the Long Mountain to the European Mushroom Park in Gillersdorf and from here through the Reischeltal to Neustadt am Rennsteig.
