The piney pinecreek border airport (FAA Code: 48Y ) is a public airport , which is 3.7 km north-east of Pinecreek , Minnesota is. It belongs to the Minnesota State Department of Transportation.

The airfield is one of a total of six, which are located on both Canadian and US territory. It therefore also serves the Piney community , Manitoba .

The Piney Pinecreek Border Airport was originally located entirely on American territory. Because an expansion of the runway was necessary, due to various obstacles south of the airfield, one had to switch to the area north of it, which is Canadian territory. After various agreements had been made, the runway was able to cross the 49th parallel.
