history
The beginnings
The Pinkenburger Kreis was founded in 1985 by the current chairman Friedrich-Wilhelm Busse together with Carl Heissmeyer and Peter-Alwin Pinnen . The name was given after the historical nucleus of Groß-Buchholz, the Pinkenburg , a former control room of the Hanoverian Landwehr . In 1986 the first picture exhibition took place in the Buchholz windmill . On the occasion of the 650-year history of the village, a first district festival was organized in the Kapellenbrink in 1987 , followed by the first annual Christmas market a year later. With the Easter egg hunt at the Schiffgraben and the revitalization of the Easter fire, the association reintroduced further traditions. Since 1988, various initiatives have been taken to preserve and convert numerous historic buildings and locations in the district. Schlachte festivals and the first time in 1993. aligned Buchholz meeting with tree planting followed the 1995 organized Buchholz ball at the numerous clubs attended the guest of honor was "His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Hanover " because traditionally "a special relationship between Great-Buchholz and the Guelph house is." In 2005 a “ memorial for war victims ” was designed on Osterfelddamm ; To this end, the group published a booklet with memories and stories by Elisabeth Klein.
Refurbishments and remodeling
By 2011, information boards of the Pinkenburger Kreis were attached to more than 25 historical buildings , with which they inform about the year of construction, type of use and history of the buildings. The city of Hanover was encouraged by the Pinkenburger Kreis to treat the townscape with care, especially when it comes to new buildings. Instead of the planned re-asphalting of Pinkenburger Strasse, an expansion with natural stone paving and brick instead of concrete for the footpaths was achieved. Overall, new buildings around the former village are "increasingly based on design elements such as brick or half-timbered facades , crooked hip roof , red roof tiles , divided windows and staggered construction."
In the Pink Strasse were street lights erected for historical forms.
The Pinkenburger Kreis achieved particular success
- 1988:
- Acquisition, renovation and conversion of the 400-year-old Giesecke-Hof by a member of the district;
- Restoration of the "Ebelings Tenne" building made of lawn iron stone on Groß-Buchholzer Kirchweg .
- During the repair of the gable ends of the two- column house Köritz from 1619, some of the "Pinkenburgers" became personally active.
- In 1998 the Pinkenburger Kreis installed the village fountain , which the sculptor Bernd Maro created in 1997.
