Piotr Nowakowski (born December 18, 1987 in Żyrardów ) is a Polish volleyball player .

Career

Nowakowski began his career at Wrzos Międzyborów . He later played for Metro Warszawa and in 2006 he joined AZS Częstochowa . In 2008 he reached second place with the club in the Polish Cup competition and in the league. In the same year, the middle blocker made his debut in the Polish national team . At the European Championships in 2009 he won the title with the team. In 2011 Poland won third places in the world league and the European championship as well as second place in the World Cup . Nowakowski then moved to his current club Resovia Rzeszów . With Rzeszów he was Polish champion in 2012, 2013 and 2015. He was also in the 2012 CEV Cup final and the Champions League final in 2015 . With the national team he won the World League in 2012 . Nowakowski played in London at the Olympic tournament and reached the quarterfinals. He was also world champion with the national team at the 2014 World Cup in his own country . In 2016 Nowakowski was again fifth at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
