Pippa Harris

Dame Philippa Jill Olivier Harris , DBE (born March 27, 1967 in London ), known as Pippa Harris , is a British film and television producer .

Life

In 2003, Pippa Harris co- founded the production company Neal Street Productions with Sam Mendes and Caro Newling . Prior to becoming Head of Development at BBC Films and then Executive Producer for BBC Drama Serials, Harris was an editor at ITV and Channel Four. In 2001 she became Head of Drama Commissioning for the BBC. She served as an advisor to former Liberal Democrat Chairperson Nick Clegg MP, with whom she studied at Robinson College, Cambridge . Harris Dame has been Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) since 2015 .

In 2018, after serving a year as Vice-Chair, Harris was named Chair of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and is a board member of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. In late June 2020, Pippa Harris became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .
