The Pirogow Glacier ( Bulgarian Пирогов ледник Pirogow lednik ) is a 5 km long and 1.5 km wide glacier on the Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows southwest of Mount Parry in a westerly direction to Dallmann Bay , into which it joins south of Minot Point .
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2009 after the Russian scientist and surgeon Nikolai Pirogow (1810–1881), who was instrumental in establishing modern health care in Bulgaria during the Russo-Ottoman War (1877–1878).
