Pitiful Reign is an English thrash metal band from Kingston upon Hull that was founded in 2003 under the name Metalegion .

history

The band was founded in 2003 under the name Metalegion as a three-member school band. After Matt Walker joined the band as bassist, Tom Britton joined the band as lead guitarist so that Josh Callis-Smith could now play the rhythm guitar and take over the vocals. Over the next two years the band wrote a few songs and played live performances. In 2005 the EP 24 Liter Killer followed , and in 2006 the debut album Toxic Choke , both self-released. In 2006 the band also played at Bloodstock Open Air , along with Edguy , Metal Church and Stratovarius . In addition, the band was voted the third best British band without a contract in Terrorizer magazine.

In early 2007, the band split from Tom Britton and guitarists Alan Pashby and Nev Britton came to the band. Then the band recorded the EP DIVE . The sound carrier was chosen as demo of the month in Metal Hammer . Around the same time that the EP was released, the band reached a contract with the Italian label Punishment 18 Records . Her album Visual Violence was released in autumn 2008. It was produced by Steve DiGiorgio ( Sadus , ex- Death , ex- Testament , ex- Iced Earth ) and Juan Urteaga ( Vile , produced for bands like Exodus , Testament and Sadus). The cover was designed by Ed Repka . Work on the second album began in early 2009 and Danny Banks joined the band as the new guitarist to replace Nev Britton.

style

The band plays Thrash Metal, which is based on the music from the San Francisco Bay Area of the 1980s.
