Pittsburgh Open 2014

The 2014 Pittsburgh Open took place January 29 through February 3, 2014 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2013/14 and belonged to the International 25 category .

The defending champion of the last event in 2011 was Alister Walker , who also reached the final this year. In this he was defeated by the Egyptian Karim Abdel Gawad with 11: 5, 7:11, 4:11 and 11:13.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Joel Hinds a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money was $ 25,000.
