Pittsburgh Open

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pittsburgh Open is a squash tournament of the PSA World Tour . It has been held annually in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , in the United States , since 1993, with occasional interruptions .

Initially, the tournament was one of the lowest valuation categories of the PSA Tour, although it consistently paid out more prize money until 2002 and in 2002 therefore belonged to the 2½ Star category . In 2009 and 2010 it was again in the lowest rating category, before it was a tournament in the International 25 category with 25,000 US dollars in prize money in 2011 . It retained this status until 2018. In 2019, the tournament belonged to the PSA World Tour Bronze category with prize money of US $ 47,500.

Record winners are Karim Abdel Gawad , Juha Raumolin and Jamie Crombie , who each won the tournament twice - and always in a row.
