Stéphane Galifi (born January 14, 1978 in Nogent-sur-Marne ) is an Italian - French squash player .

Career

Stéphane Galifi began his career in 1997 and won over these eleven titles on the PSA World Tour . He achieved his best placement in the world rankings with rank 40 in July 2005. With the French national team , he took part in the 1996 European Championship . From 2010 Galifi competed under the Italian flag on the World Tour. In the seasons 2009 , 2010 and 2011 he qualified for the main draw of the World Championship , where he was eliminated in the first round. With the Italian national team , he took part in the European Championships in 2010 and 2011 .

2011 also followed the participation with Italy in the team world championships . During the tournament he was tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol in a doping test. Galifi, who had been banned for the same reason in 2005, was banned again from the World Squash Federation for two years. According to the rules, Italy was subsequently disqualified from the World Cup and put back in last place.
