The Italian squash national team is the entirety of the squash squash federation Federazione Italiana Giuoco Squash . In it you will find Italian athletes who represent their country in both individual and team competitions nationally and internationally in squash .
history
Men's
Italy took in 1989 for the first time at a World Cup in part and ended the tournament on rank 22.. With an interruption in 1993, further participations followed in 1991 , 1995 and 1997 , with a new record in 1991 with 16th place. In 2003 , 2009 and 2011 , Italy also took part in the World Cup. In both 2009 and 2011 the team reached the quarter-finals, in 2009 they finished the tournament in seventh place. In the last participation in 2011, the disqualification took place after Stéphane Galifi gave a positive doping test during the tournament. Italy originally came in 6th place.
At the European Championships , which have been held annually since 1973, Italy has so far reached the semi-finals. In 2011 the team won bronze after a semi-final defeat against France and a victory in the game for third place against the Netherlands . The 2011 squad included Stéphane Galifi, Davide Bianchetti , Marcus Berrett , Amr Swelim , Andrea Torricini and Mirko Pareccini .
