The 2010 European Team Championships in Squash took place from April 27th to May 1st, 2010 in Aix-en-Provence , France . A total of 27 teams competed in the men and 21 teams in the women. For the men it was the 38th edition of the championship, for the women it was the 33rd edition.
For the women, the final took place for the first time in the history of the European team championships not only without an English winner, but also without any English participation. In the semifinals, the Netherlands had defeated the English team 2-1. In the final against France, the game also ended 2-1 for the Netherlands: Vanessa Atkinson defeated Camille Serme 3-1 in the opening game before Isabelle Stoehr equalized after a 3-2 against Annelize Naudé . Orla Noom won the decisive game against Maud Duplomb 3-0. Coline Aumard did not make it to the final on the French side , while Margriet Huisman was a substitute player for the Dutch . England was third ahead of Ireland.
The participating teams played in different groups according to their placement at the previous European Championship. In groups A and B, the eight best teams competed for men and women and played for the European title. First, the teams were divided into two groups and played their games in round robin mode . The two best teams advanced to the semifinals. In groups C, D, E and F, a total of 19 men competed in groups of four and three groups of five. The group first of groups C to F and the group third and fourth of groups A and B met in a knockout round and determined places five to twelve, with places five to eight qualifying for groups A and B meant the next European Championship. The women's groups C, D, E and F consisted of 13 teams this year, which were divided into three groups of three and one group of four. The group first met in a knockout round on the group third and fourth of groups A and B and played for the qualification for groups A and B of the next European championship. At the tournament all places were played out.
All teams consisted of at least three (women) or four (men) and a maximum of five or six players, who had to be reported in the order of their skill level. Three individual games were played per match for the women and four for the men. The order in which the individual games were played was independent of the order in which the players entered.
