The Finnish squash national team is the entirety of the squash squash federation Suomen Squashliitto . In it you will find Finnish athletes who represent their country in both individual and team competitions nationally and internationally in squash .

history

Men's

Finland first took part in a world championship in 1981 . The team finished their debut in tenth place. In 1989 she survived the group stage for the first time and reached the quarter-finals. Two years later , Finland achieved the best result at world championships with third place in their home town of Helsinki . Another semi-finals came in 1993 in Karachi , where Finland ultimately finished fourth. Finland reached the quarter-finals in each of the following three tournaments, and in 2001 the second round. Between 2003 and 2009 , the team failed in the group stage before making it to the round of 16 in 2011 , 2013 and 2017 .

Finland was very successful at the European Championships . The team reached the semi-finals for the first time in 1978 and finished the tournament in fourth place. Two years later in Helsinki Finland improved to third place. More podium finishes followed when the team finished third in the championship seven times in a row between 1984 and 1990. In 1991 and 1992 she became vice European champion behind England for the first time . Finland repeated this success again in 1995 and 1998. Between 1995 and 2001 it also always reached at least the semi-finals.
