The Piz Tarantschun is a mountain in the Splügen limestone mountains in the Swiss canton of Graubünden . The mountain lies west of the municipality of Wergenstein im Avers , the pass lies in the territory of the municipalities of Mathon and Wergenstein.
The Carnusapass , a pass crossing from Wergenstein to Safien, is located north of Piz Tarantschun at 2605 meters .
Like all of Splügen's limestone mountains , Piz Tarantschun is characterized by stone deserts and scree slopes.
