History

In the mid-1990s, the Planet disco was built in an old factory building on Kilianstrasse in Nuremberg. The original concept provided for a mixture between art and nightlife, hence the actual name "Planetarts", which over time has changed to "Planetdance" and finally to just "Planet".

In 2001 the company moved to Klingenhofstrasse 40, right next to the Resi site .

Since 2005 the regional radio station Energy Nürnberg has broadcast live from the planet every Saturday.

In 2009, Germany's oldest independent music theater, the Pocket Opera Company, performed the opera Petrolio by Emilio de 'Cavalieri in Planet .

The last party in the planet was on June 18, 2014.
