features
The cells , approximately 20 micrometers in size, are arranged individually or in small groups. They are encased in a flowing gelatinous shell. The cells contain numerous chloroplasts , each with a pyrenoid .
Occurrence
Planktosphaeria gelatinosa is found in the plankton of ponds and lakes. The species is also found as an algae .
