Luc Chatel
Luc Chatel (born August 15, 1964 in Bethesda , Maryland , USA ) is a French politician of the UMP .
Life
Chatel studied at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne . From 2002 to 2007 he was a member of the French National Assembly . Chatel has been Mayor of Chaumont in the Haute-Marne department since 2008 . From 2009 to 2012 he was the successor to Xavier Darcos in the Second and Third Cabinet of François Fillon Education Minister in the French Ministry of Education, Youth and Associations. Since November 19, 2012 he was Vice-President ( Vice-président délégué ) of the UMP under the party chairman Jean-François Copé . After his resignation, Chatel was appointed General Secretary on June 10, 2014.
