Cabinet Fillon II
The Fillon II cabinet was the French government from June 18, 2007 to November 13, 2010 under Prime Minister François Fillon .
The government succeeded the Fillon I cabinet , which had acted as an interim government between the presidential and parliamentary elections and, in accordance with conventions, resigned on June 18, one day after the second round of parliamentary elections. François Fillon was immediately reassigned to form a government by President Nicolas Sarkozy and presented his new cabinet a day later.
The most significant change compared to the Fillon I cabinet was the departure of the Minister of State and Environment Minister Alain Juppé . This had lost his mandate in the parliamentary election and thereupon renounced the government offices. His successor in both functions was Jean-Louis Borloo , who was succeeded by Christine Lagarde in his previous position as Minister of Finance, Economy and Employment .
The cabinet was reshuffled a total of 13 times. The most extensive reorganization took place on June 23, 2009, shortly after the 2009 European elections .
On November 13, 2010, the Fillon II government announced its resignation, which came into effect one day later. This should enable a fundamental reorganization of the government. On the same day, François Fillon was again charged with forming a government and formed the Fillon III cabinet .
