Cabinet Juppé I

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cabinet Juppe I was of 17 May 1995 to 7 November 1995, the 25th Government of the fifth French republic .

President Jacques Chirac appointed Alain Juppé as the new Prime Minister on the day of his inauguration . The other members of the government were announced on May 19, 1995.

Like its previous government, the government relied on the overwhelming majority of the Rassemblement pour la République and Union pour la démocratie française in the National Assembly .

The government resigned on November 7, 1995, to allow a government reshuffle in view of Juppé's rapid decline in popularity.
