The Plata Glacier is a glacier in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Victory Mountains, it flows north between the Mirabito Range and the Monteath Hills to the Jutland Glacier .
The New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the glacier at the suggestion of New Zealand geologist Robert H. Findlay, who worked in the area between 1981 and 1982, after the Battle of the Rio de la Plata during World War II . Numerous other objects in the area are also named after sea battles.
