Platehof

The Platehof is a listed secular building at Platehofstraße 9 in Brüninghausen , a district of Lüdenscheid in the Märkisches Kreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The entrepreneur's house is marked 1813. After 1900 it was acquired by Peter Robert Plate and redesigned around 1911. The plastered house with hipped roof is axially structured. It stands on a base that is structured all around by bezel windows. Access is on the narrow side accented by a wide, segmented dormer. The column portal with a two-wing entrance door with side and skylight can be accessed via a semicircular staircase . The tower with a curved dome and lantern was added in 1921 according to plans by Alfred Seuster. The spacious garden with quarry stone walls is oriented towards the verse . In the walled front garden there is a pavilion with a curved hood, it was built in 1921. The former farm building has been rebuilt, and today the houses at Platehofstrasse 5 and 7 are located in it. The three-wing complex from 1921 was rebuilt using components from the 19th century. On the opposite side is the carriage house of Tudor .
