Andreas Platthaus (born February 15, 1966 in Aachen ) is a German journalist , comic book expert and author. Since February 2016 he has been head of the literature and literary life section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .

Life

After a bank apprenticeship in Cologne , Andreas Platthaus, son of the doctoral engineer Hans-Lutz Platthaus, studied business administration in Aachen , then in the early 1990s rhetoric , philosophy and history at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen . That he in Tübingen with rüdiger bubner , Manfred Frank , Otfried Hoffe or Günter Figal "original an unusually large ensemble and independent thinker as a teacher had" , it was "clear only after graduation" .

Platthaus published biographies on Alfred Herrhausen (2006) and Walt Disney (2001). In 2013 he was appointed as a juror for the German Book Prize . In 2018 Platthaus was awarded a Hessian Culture Prize.

He works as an editor and for years as the deputy feature editor at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . Since February 2016 he has been head of the literature and literary life department .

In 2009 his first novel, Free Play, was published .
