Playaz Circle is an American hip-hop - Duo , which in 1997 College Park , Georgia was founded. It consists of Tity Boi and Dolla Boy . They are part of the Disturbing Tha Peace collective and the record label of the same name and are considered representatives of Down South and gangsta rap .
Career
Tity Boi and Dolla Boy became friends in high school . Then they founded the group Playaz Circle in 1997 and began to publish mixtapes . During this time, Ludacris moved into their neighborhood and began working with them. However, while he soon became one of the most successful rap artists, Playaz Circle's career stalled when Dolla Boy was sentenced to prison and Tity Boi was shot. Ludacris offered both of them a place in his Disturbing Tha Peace collective as well as with the label of the same name. They accepted the offer and recorded the song Play Pen To The State Pen , which appeared on Disturbing Tha Peace's first album, Golden Grain . However, those in charge of the label, which had a partnership with Def Jam , did not want to publish any music by the two. So they continued to work on albums and mixtapes that they sold themselves on the street and tried to pass their music on to DJs in Atlanta with the aim of getting it played in clubs. They finally had success with the single Duffle Bag Boy , whose refrain Lil Wayne took over. It led the label to give the green light for the release of their debut album Supply & Demand , which was already finished. It was released in 2007. Two years later, the album Flight 360: The Takeoff followed .
