Pliensbach is a hamlet in the municipality of Zell unter Aichelberg in the district of Göppingen in central Baden-Württemberg . The place name "Bläschba" is pronounced by the locals.
geography
Pliensbach is located in the central Alb foreland between the Albtrauf in the south and the lower reaches of the Fils in the south, about half a kilometer east of the outskirts of Zell on the left bank of the lower Pliensbach , which drains northwards over the Butzbach into the Fils, and after which the place is named . He is at heights a little 375 m above sea level. NHN and is on this side of the stream surrounded by orchards and fields. One road leads west to Zell, another over the stream towards Bad Boll in the southeast.
Pliensbach has about 130 inhabitants and has belonged to Zell unter Aichelberg since the formation of the Zeller Staff about 500 years ago.
geology
A chronostratigraphic level of the Jura , the Pliensbachium, is named after the place. The first mentions of paleontological finds in the area come from the years 1565 (Conrad Gesner) and 1602 (Johannes Bauhinus).
history
In 1452 Pliensbach came into Württemberg possession. In September 1519, 14 buildings in Pliensbach were devastated during the conflict between Duke Ulrich and the Swabian Federation . In 1628 the plague reached Pliensbach like the whole Zeller staff and claimed a total of 200 deaths in the towns of Zell, Pliensbach, Aichelberg and Eckwälden.
Attractions
Pliensbach is known for its beautiful bell tower and for the fisherman's festival on Father's Day , which took place every year until 2014. The Gasthof Sonne , which has been family-owned since 1747 and offers typical Swabian cuisine , is also well-known and appreciated nationwide .
