The eponymous Pliensbach , which merges with the Butzbach , flows north of the suburb of Pliensbach . Other, smaller rivers are the Giesbach and the Zeller Bach.

coat of arms

The blazon of the municipal coat of arms of Zell unter Aichelberg reads: Under a golden shield head covered with a lying black deer pole in red an armored golden link arm .

A mayor's office seal dates from the early 19th century, which without a shield contains the letter Z over two diagonally crossed leaves. The Z was still used in an official seal in 1930. In 1931, today's coat of arms was added to the official seal. The left arm, in which the sword has been omitted for simplicity, stands for the local nobility, the Lords of Zell. The stag bar stands for the Wuerttemberg affiliation of the place since the 14th century. Since no colors have survived from the local nobility coat of arms, they were freely chosen in 1949. The coat of arms and flag were awarded on February 19, 1959 by the Ministry of the Interior. The flag colors of the place are yellow-red.

One of the decisive factors for these successes was certainly the redevelopment of the town center, in which the appearance of the municipality was lovingly designed.
  • A more recent landmark that has emerged from this is the Schäferbrunnen , which is located in the center of the village opposite the town hall.
  • In the town hall there is a permanent exhibition of pictures by the painter Margret Hofheinz-Döring , who lived in Zell from 1974 to 1993. A memorial room in the attic is dedicated to her.
