The Mohrenkopfpapagei ( Poicephalus senegalus ) is a parrots art from the genus of poicephalus ( Poicephalus ). There are 3 subspecies.
Appearance
Head and face gray to dark gray, ear covers or ear mark with a slight silver tinge. The back of the breast, belly, under wing and tail coverts in bright light yellow, which deepens to orange in the middle of the abdomen. Feathers and tail dark brown with an olive green tinge. Back, thighs and a shield-shaped chest band are bright grass green. Bill blackish gray, iris yellow, glasses (naked eye ring) anthracite.
distribution
Senegal , Gambia , Guinea-Bissau and Guinea , Ivory Coast and Ghana eastwards to West Nigeria , East and Northeast Nigeria, North Cameroon and Southwest Chad . The black-headed parrots are mostly true to their location and only undertake local hikes because of the food supply. Black-headed parrots have been found up to a height of 1000 m.
voice
The black-headed parrot is one of the medium-loud to loud parrots, which expresses itself with whistles and some shrill tones. The shrill penetrating voice is his distinguishing mark among each other and is based on communication in the vast steppes of Africa.
