Polapy ( Ukrainian Полапи ; Russian Полапы , Polish Połapy ) is a village in the northwest of the Ukrainian Volyn Oblast with about 1000 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in the 16th century, had 195 houses with a total of 1159 inhabitants at the end of the 19th century. From June 23, 1941 to July 18, 1944 the village was occupied by Wehrmacht troops.
On 18 July 2017, the village became part of the newly established rural community of Rivne (Ukrainian Рівненська сільська громада / Riwnenska silska hromada ). Until then, the village formed together with the southwest lie of Polapy village Sokil ( Сокіл , ⊙ ) (about 140 inhabitants) the 12.6 km² district council of the same name in the north of the Rajons .
Polapy is located near the Polish- Ukrainian border, 15 km northwest of the Ljuboml district center and 137 km northwest of the Lutsk Oblast center. Territorial road T – 03–02 runs five kilometers east of the village .
In the village is the Holy Assumption Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, first mentioned in 1755, burned down in 1943 and rebuilt in 1993 .
