The Polarstar Peak is a 2400 m high mountain peak in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 5 km north of Mount Ulmer in the northern part of the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .
The American polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth discovered him during his transantarctic flight on November 23, 1935. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1961 after the Polar Star aircraft , a Northrop gamma that Ellsworth used on his flight.
