The Yearbook Political Thinking is an annual humanities and social science journal founded in 1991 with a focus on political and political theory .

The yearbook is published by Volker Gerhardt , Clemens Kauffmann († 2020), Hans-Christof Kraus , Frank-Lothar Kroll , Peter Nitschke , Henning Ottmann and Martyn P. Thompson . The yearbook has been published by Duncker & Humblot since 2004 ; previously it was published by Metzler Verlag . It is u. a. the publication organ of the German Society for Research into Political Thought (DGEPD).

The yearbook brings together articles "with historical and current reference points" from all humanities and social science disciplines as well as reviews . His aim is to promote political thinking in science and society and to mediate this between the two. Special issues for the publication of conference contributions are published at irregular intervals. Since 2011, all manuscripts submitted for publication have been subjected to a peer review process.
