Pombalinho is a locality and former municipality in central Portugal .

geography

Pombalinho is located in the Serra do Rabaçal , a mountain range of the Iberian Divide Mountains not far from the eponymous historical town of Rabaçal .

history

The finds of the Villa Romana of Dordias date from Roman times . The present town was first documented as a "Palumbarium" in a deed of donation from 1141. In 1785 Pombalinho received a stake ( port. Pelourinho ) as a sign of its city ​​rights, which it had received before 1708 .

Pombalinho was a municipality ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Soure , in the district of Coimbra . On June 30, 2011 the community had 803 inhabitants in an area of ​​25.3 km².
