Bomê (also called Powo) is a district that belongs to the administrative area of the Nyingchi Administrative District in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . In 1999 it had 27,169 inhabitants. Its main town is Zhamog (Zhamu).
Bomê practically retained its independence into the 20th century. This ancient center of Tibetan culture is also known as Poyül or Powo.
