The Pongoma ( Russian Поньгома ; karel. Ponkama ) is a river in the north of the Republic of Karelia in Russia .

It forms the outflow of the lake of the same name, Pongoma . This is located immediately south of the Toposero . The Pongoma River flows east for a distance of 86 km. It passes several lakes (Nomosero, Wokschosero, Rogosero) and has a number of rapids. The river flows into the White Sea at the settlement of Pongoma .

The following fish can be caught in the river : perch , pike , whitefish , rutilus , rainbow trout , pink salmon , trout and smelt .
