The Pont de Saint-Rémy-de-Maurienne is a road bridge that connects the Route départementale D 75E near Saint-Rémy-de-Maurienne in the Savoie department in the French region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes to the Arc River and the autoroute that runs alongside it A 43 and a local road crossed. It is the only bridge over the river near the village.

On the right bank of the river, another bridge is immediately adjacent, with which the D 75E also crosses the D 1006 and the Culoz – Modane railway line ( ligne de la Maurienne ) to then join the river as the Ancienne Route Royale (former royal road) to keep a safe distance from its frequent floods.

description

The Pont de Saint-Rémy was planned by Jean Tonello and architecturally designed by Charles Lavigne with his colleague Alain Montois. It was completed in 18 months between 1995 and 1996, making it France's first extradosed bridge .

It is 101 m long, 13.6 m wide and runs in a slight curve. It has two lanes and a walkway on the north side. A low pylon , typical of extradosed bridges, divides them into two openings of 52.5 and 48.5 m.

Its deck girder consists of a 22 cm thick concrete slab reinforced by side beams in which the three double stay cables are anchored. Together with the pylon, the superstructure has a height of 2.15 m. For fire protection and protection against vandalism, the stay cables are guided in steel tubes, which are coated with a lacquered aluminum foil and pressed with a special mortar that offers a fire resistance of one hour at 925 ° C.
