The Porzehütte is in Tyrol part of Karnischen Alps preferred Alpenvereinshütte of Alpine Association Austria of the PES . It is classified with the AV hut category I and is an important stage base on the Carnic High Trail .

location

The at 1942  m above sea level. A. Höhe, Porzehütte is only a little below the Tilliacher Joch, over which the border to the Italian province of Belluno runs.

history

The first accommodation at the site of today's Porzehütte had already existed before the Second World War. However, as a result of the turmoil of the war and post-war, this structure was destroyed and not restored in the following years. Until the new Porz hut was built in 1976, there was only an emergency bivouac at this site. Due to the large number of visitors, this newly built hut was enlarged seven years after it was built.

Approaches

  • From the north from Obertilliach ( 1450  m )
    • on the gravel road leading through the Dorfertal in three hours or
    • from the head of the Dorfertal (end of the road) at Klapfsee ( 1680  m ) in one hour.
  • From the southwest from the Italian Visdende Valley from the hamlet of Malga Pra Marino ( 1290  m ) in four hours.
