The Filmoor-Standschützenhütte is an Alpine Club hut of the Alpine Club Austria of the ÖAV on the Carnic Main Ridge .
location
The hut is located on the Filmoorböden , in East Tyrol north of the border with the Italian province of Belluno and southeast below the Große Kinigat . The refuge is located on the Karnischer Höhenweg between the Porzehütte and the Obstansersee-Hütte and is also a base of the Friedensweg .
history
In the 1970s, the Association of Friends of the Dolomites, under the direction of Walther Schaumann, began restoring the Carnic High Trail. This also required the construction or reconstruction of shelters. In the course of this, on the initiative of Walther Schaumann, the construction of the Filmoorhütte was started in 1976 by members of the Landwehr Trunk Regiment 64 Lienz (today's Jäger Battalion 24 in Austria's Armed Forces ) and volunteers from the Association of Friends of the Dolomites . Funding was mainly provided by the Austria section. The building material, partly financed by municipalities and agricultural communities , was brought to the Filmoorboden with the help of helicopters , Haflingers of the armed forces and “baggage marches” of the soldiers. After long weekend work, the hut was completed the following year and was inaugurated on August 14, 1977.
In memory of the battles during the mountain war in July 1915 for Filmoor and Kinigat and the tireless efforts of the Lesachtaler Standschützen , the hut was named Standschützenhütte at the suggestion of Othmar Doblander, then Lienz district captain .
At first, the hut was looked after by military personnel until it took over the Austria section. The Haflingers of the Armed Forces took over the supply of the hut with wood for almost 30 years.
In 1990 a small sleeping hut was added. The hut, which is now too small, was completely renovated in 2000 and its own sanitary wing was added. The old sleeping quarters were replaced in 2007 by a larger sleeping hut with a cellar and a modern sewage treatment plant was put into operation.
