Posnan (Ukrainian and Russian Познань ; Polish Poznań ) is a village in Rivne Oblast in Ukraine . It is located directly on the border with Belarus on the river Stwyha ( Ствига ), the district center Rokytne is 40 kilometers south, the Oblast center Rivne 138 kilometers southwest.
The village has about 1300 inhabitants and forms with the villages of Dubno ( Дубно ), Chmil ( Хміль ) and Hlynne the district council of Hlynne.
It was officially founded in 1906 and emerged from a logging settlement. The place was in the Russian Empire in the Minsk Governorate until 1917/21 , then came to the Second Polish Republic in the Polesian Voivodeship , Powiat Łuniniec , Gmina Berezów and was occupied by the Soviet Union in 1939 and by Germany in 1941. In 1945, after the reconquest by the Red Army , the place finally came to the Ukrainian SSR , since 1991 it has been part of today's Ukraine.
