history
Post SV Chemnitz was founded on October 1, 1948 as the company sports association BSG Post Chemnitz and later renamed BSG Karl-Marx-Stadt . Initially, around 380 athletes trained in the four sections of football, handball, hockey and athletics. In 1951, Deutsche Post took over the Post Stadium and built a modern venue. 1952 saw the inauguration of two soccer fields, a running track, a hockey field and three tennis courts. By the turn of 1989, the BSG had grown to 20 sections and 2,400 postal athletes.
Sections
hockey
The hockey section has 115 members (as of January 2012) . The women play in the Central German Association League, the first men in the Central German Oberliga. There are several youth teams, seniors and parent hockey players. As BSG Post Karl-Marx-Stadt, the men were indoor hockey champions of the GDR in 1957 and 1979 . The best-known hockey player is Gerold Quinger, a 22-time national player of the GDR, who is still active in the over 65 national team today.

Soccer
The soccer department of Post Chemnitz always appeared in the lower class. Participation in the third or fourth-rate district league Karl-Marx-Stadt were not reached until 1989, since the fall of the wall, the club has been active in Chemnitz local football without exception. Home is the stadium on Marktsteig .
