The Postwiesen ski area is a winter sports area in the Rothaargebirge near Neuastenberg ( North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany ).

The approximately 300,000 m² winter sports area is located in the Hochsauerland district between the upper reaches of the Lenne in the west and the Odeborn in the east near the Neuastenberg district southwest of Winterberg . There it is to the east of the Hohe Bone , a mountain just a little southwest of the Kahler Asten , on the eastward sloping mountainside of the Postwiese .

The 610 to 730  m above sea level. NN ski area is on at the Postwiese leading past and after Schmallenberg conductive B 236 to reach the at Postwiese course of the road with the B 480 shares; the latter road leads to Bad Berleburg .

In the Postwiesen ski area , eight ski lifts and 16 partly snow-covered and illuminated ski slopes with a total length of 10 km and a 500 m long natural toboggan run with lift were built. In addition, cross-country trails available, up to the ski area located above the high bone lead. From there there are cross-country trails to Altastenberg and the Hunau-Höhenloipe. There is also a small ski jump . There is also a fun park for snowboarders and several ski huts .

In 2013 the Postwiesen Liftgesellschaft built a 4-seater chairlift on the eastern slope.

Designation as a landscape protection area

The majority of the Postwiesen ski area was designated in 2008 as the Postwiese landscape protection area and lean grassland near Neuastenberg . The LSG is for the most part a legally protected biotope according to § 30 BNatSchG . Most of the areas have belonged to the FFH area Bergwiesen bei Winterberg (DE 4717-305) since 2004 . A large part of the area are legally protected biotopes according to § 30 BNatSchG.
