The Potzlowsee is located in the northeast of Brandenburg in the Uckermark district . Its drainage path to the neighboring and larger Oberuckersee is called 'Potzlower Seegraben'. It has a water surface of about 160 hectares. The eponymous village of Potzlow , part of the Oberuckersee municipality, is located on the bank .
The lake is one of the Uckermark Lakes and is located in the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park . The almost circular body of water is poorly structured.
The lime-rich, layered lake has a nine square kilometer catchment area. The body of water has an effective length of 1.7 kilometers and a width of 1.4 kilometers. The lake is one of the larger of the 250 lakes in the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve .
