Povilas brazaitis

Povilas Brazaitis (born October 25, 1879 in Vaiktai ( Pakruojis district ), Wolost Kartena (now Kretinga district ), Telšiai district , Lithuania ; † February 19, 1947 in Altai , Russia , Soviet Union ) was a Lithuanian lawyer and politician , Deputy Minister of Justice of Lithuania .

Life

His father was Juozas Brazaitis (1850-1926).

Povilas Brazaitis studied at the Šiauliai high school . In 1909, he graduated in law at the Law Faculty of the University of Moscow in Russia . He then worked in Vilnius , later as a lawyer in the Plater Manor in the Zarasai district . From 1914 onwards he was mobilized and worked in the directorate in Daugavpils (Latvia) and Toropez (Russia). From 1921 he headed the prison department as director. From 1923 he was Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania and from 1934 a notary in Kaunas . After the Soviet occupation he was deported to Siberia .
