The Powiat Łańcucki is a powiat (district) in the Polish Subcarpathian Voivodeship . The powiat has an area of ​​452 km², on which 80,741 inhabitants live.

Attractions

  • The Ulma Family Museum of Poles Saving Jews in World War II in Markowa is the first museum in Poland dedicated to saving the Jewish population in occupied Poland during World War II. The museum building and interior were designed by Mirosław Nizio - known for his modern museum architecture and design of expositions.
  • The Castle Museum in Łańcut is located in one of the most beautiful aristocratic residences in Poland, Łańcut Castle . The castle, the pavilions and farm buildings are surrounded by a historic, picturesque English park and landscaped park. The complex is of great historical importance for European and Polish cultural heritage.
  • The pottery center in Medynia Glogowska shows the pottery tradition of the region. It is located in a historic 19th century homestead. Here you can visit workshops and lectures. There is also an exhibition of ceramics and clay sculptures from the early 20th century. You can buy souvenirs and handicrafts in the small shop in the pottery center. The pottery fair takes place in July every year.
  • Łańcut Synagogue was built in 1761 and is one of the most important sacred buildings in Poland. The baroque synagogue was financed by Stanisław Lubomirski, the protector of the Jews in Łańcut. The synagogue is located on the Hasidic Route which connects 30 places in the Podkarpackie and Lubelskie Voivodeships.
  • Ukrainian Orthodox art in the Łańcut Castle Museum. The museum houses the largest collection of icons in Poland. In addition to icons, the exhibition also shows flags, procession crosses, textiles and 300 volumes of old Cyrillic prints, including the carefully renovated Apostle (1574) from the Fedorova print shop in Lviv (Ukraine).
