Poyraz is a village in the Beykoz district of the Turkish province of İstanbul . According to the last census, Poyraz had 904 inhabitants (as of December 2010). Poyraz is located at the exit of the Bosporus into the Black Sea , on the Asian side of the strait.

According to the Turkish government, the right-hand pillar of the third Bosphorus Bridge, the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge , which is currently under construction , will stand here. The pillar on the left is said to be in the village of Garipçe on the European side. The bridge should be completed by 2015.
