Predator is a German power metal band from Osnabrück . The band, which has existed since 1996, has performed all over Germany.

Before the band from Osnabrück came together in the current line-up, they were active under the name "Stormblade". Numerous self-publications and concerts quickly helped the band to gain a large following before the contract with Remedy Records from Hamburg was concluded in 2003. With a new line-up and under the new name “Predator”, the band went to work on their songs and created their official debut album. Since May 2004 it has been sold hundreds of times across Europe and has received above-average ratings in all the major magazines. Various concerts followed the release last summer. The highlights nationwide were the gig at the Metal-Bash Festival in Neu Wulmstorf and regionally the appearance at the city center party in Bad Oeynhausen.

history

In June 1996 Niels Löffler (guitar) and Max Schmieding (bass) founded the band under the name Stormblade . In February 1997, drummer Christian Horn, guitarist Marko Osterholz and singer Meik Short joined the band. Half a year later, the recording of a demo with Rebellion guitarist Uwe Lulis begins . After recording a 6-song demo, the retired musicians Meik Short and Marko Osterholz will be replaced by Ulf Serke as singer and Marc Plitzner on guitar. Between August and October 1998 a new demo called Escape from Nowhere will be created . In November of the same year three people left the band: Christian Horn, Marc Plitzner and Ulf Serke. Singer Marko Osterholz returns next year and guitarist Stefan Siekmann and drummer Tim Schlattmann complete the line-up again.

Finally, in October 2000, she produced her first EP, Insane . A year later the promo CD Addiction 2001 was released. Then Stefan Siekmann leaves the band, a year later a contract is signed with Remedy Records from Hamburg , which includes a name change to the current name Predator. Finally, the drummer Tim Schlattmann leaves the band and one finds a replacement in the brothers Sebastian and Daniel Hinz, who take over the positions on guitar and drums. The year 2003 was used to record their first album, which was finally released self-titled in May 2004. This was followed by many concerts, among others with Dark Age , Hirax and Wolf .

Contributions to tribute albums for Saxon and Running Wild followed in 2005 . In the same year, Marko Osterholz left the band and was replaced by Jan Kleinheider. Further concerts follow, for example as a support band for Rebellion and Mob Rules . They are currently working on their second album.
